Mrs. Marie PAYNE, daughter of William and Sarah Jane TEAGUE was born Sept 30, 1872 in Missouri and died Tuesday afternoon April 25 at Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville age 77. Mrs. Payne had been in poor health for a number of years and had spent the winter in the home of a nurse, Nancy Turner in Crawfordsville, returning to her home only last week. Suddenly taking seriously ill, she was taken to Crawfordsville last Sunday where she died of a heart ailment. June 15, 1915 she was united in marriage with Alonzo G. Payne in Danville Ill. Mrs. Payne was a member of the Crawfordsville Seventh day Adventist Church. Those who survive her going are a stepson, Earl Payne of Fairbury, Ill; two stepdaughters, Mrs. William K. Smith, Darlington and Mrs. Raymond Jarvis, Waveland; 3 nephews, Paul Teague of Indianapolis; Clarice Newlin, Clinton and Verter Myers, Wallace; and two nieces, Mrs. Alice Horne, Indianapolis and Mrs. Edith Knox of Spencer. Mrs. Payne preceded her in death several years ago. The Rev. HN Williams of Frankfort conducted the funeral services this afternoon at Machledt Funeral home with burial in Poplar Grove Cemeter, Marshall. - kbz
